The place to start building relationships is to have a greater understanding of oneself. Individual counselling offers a confidential and safe space to explore issues that may be causing difficulties or unhappiness in your life.
A confidential and safe space
As a relationship counsellor I work with individuals as well as couples. Individual counselling offers a confidential and safe space to explore issues that may be causing difficulties or unhappiness in your life.
- Relationship issues when one partner won’t attend
- Problems in finding the ‘right’ partner
- Difficulties in forming a long term relationship
- Separation and loss
- Sexual issues
- Feeling low and unhappy, or feeling anxious and depressed
- Work pressures
After an initial assessment, if ongoing counselling is appropriate it is usually on a weekly basis. Counselling can be for a fixed number of sessions or it can take place over a longer period of time; this is decided in conjunction with the individual at the first session.
You may find it difficult to form a committed relationship in the first place or, maybe, your relationships tend to regularly break down after the initial stages. You might want to explore underlying relationship patterns. Moving in together can present as challenging with many couples finding themselves entangled in constant arguments leaving both partners feeling lonely and unwanted. Exploring individual needs and attachment patterns can help you feel closer and better connected again.
